Matthew Jaenicke

Managing Director

As Managing Director, Matthew is responsible for overseeing all Offices, Associates and Departments worldwide within the Viking group and reports directly to the Chairman and other Directors. Matthew is also instrumental in the advancement of the company in different sectors, new business/Clients and of course making sure existing Clients and Candidates are more than happy with all the services they receive.

Matthew joined Viking in 2001 as Marine Administration Coordinator, but prior to this his seagoing career spanned 8 years having spent the last 5 working in the Hotel department of Holland America Line and Windstar Cruises. His early career was spent in the Guest Services department at Stena Sealink, sailing out of Dover on cross Channel ferries. In keeping with all the team at Viking he is determined to ensure that administrative standards are in line with the latest Quality Assurance standards and that they, together with all Client Company policies and procedures, are constantly reviewed and enhanced.

Mark Jaenicke

Recruitment & HR Director

As Training & Performance Director, Mark oversees all aspects of The Maritime Skills Academy as well as internal HR and Facilities within The Viking Family of Companies. Within the global team, Mark is influential in the development of the company and building the MSA as a world leading training brand. This includes the expansion of its safety course and professional development portfolio to the marine industry and to shore side commercial companies as well as maintaining the highest level of service to new and existing clients.

Mark also manages all internal HR procedures and building facilities, which include Employment Law, Health & Safety and oversight to the companies various sites; Viking House, the Maritime Skills Academy and lifeboat centre. Having spent time a short time working on board local ferries prior to joining Viking, Mark has a good understanding of the day-to-day life at sea.

Paul Clark


Paul Clark, has over 25 years experience in hotel management and ownership developing brands such as Virgin Hotels and De Vere and has now turned his hand to more niche and boutique hotels, and is on the board of Luxury Family Hotels Group.

Steve Grant


Leading the operations is Steve Grant who for over 25 years has overseen new openings, managed multiple site openings and developed resorts plus running teams from around the world which include Marriott, De Verve and Swallow hotels.

Lorraine Dyer


Alongside Steve is Lorraine Dyer, who brings a mix of hotel and retail experience across both mass and niche brands. She completely understands the importance of people in the delivery of world class guest experience.
